Drinks were fresh and the bar staff very friendly. One female staff member in particular who was operating the table service was an absolute pleasure and took great pride in her job.

  We booked this restaurant on line 3 weeks ago as it was Saturday 14th December close to Xmas and we knew the restaurants in Galway would be busy. The only times we could get was 9.15 pm which is a little bit late for us but as most of the restaurants were full, we gladly excepted the booking. Aren't we glad we did. We were welcomed into the restaurant by the host who was very friendly even though the restaurant was very busy. The Barman was brilliant and poured our drinks whilst we waited for our table. Once seated we were entertained by the waitress who extremely charming. We ordered the food and drinks which came without a long wait as it was very busy. None of us had a starter as it quite late but I really fancied the crab. The Mains and Deserts were Excellent and the menu was quite varied. The staff and facilities are good, but on this occasion, the food was a huge disappointment.

I went for Goat’s Cheese for starters and Fillet Steak for main. The steak was quite small (given the price of €36.95) but was cooked as requested.

My wife had Soup Of The Day, which was nice. For her main, she opted for Monkfish. The Monkfish was inedible. It was tough, and hard to cut.
My wife complained to the manager about the Monkfish and they agreed with her and offered her Hake instead. She refused, as she had “completely lost her appetite” by that stage.

The restaurant did not charge for my wife’s Monkfish.

Definitely won’t be back.

Our general view is that it is nice surroundings, but overpriced.

We booked a couple weeks in advance as with it being Christmas week we new it would be hard sourced . Emer who took the booking was a pleasure to deal with and explain the protocols and time limit we had , our friends also booked and they had the same thing to say . While we couldn’t sit together Emer was happy to place them close to us while maintaining a safe distance.
Food was incredible that night the steaks top class , cauliflower curry full of flavour and the brownie for desert really ended the meal on a high. Even our friends on the next table couldn’t fault a thing so much so they rebooked the next day again for an early sitting . We were served by the wonderful Aoife H that night who couldn’t be more helpful when explaining the menu wine and serving us through the evening. Even with the uncertainty and announcement of a third lockdown she was extremely professional and didn’t let the news impact her service . She also served our friends again the next day and was still as friendly as ever .
Our friends have found a new favourite in Galway and no doubt will be all back when we can.
