We had the bar menu as we hadnt booked the restaurant but steaks were an option which is the signature meal of Brasserie We were not let down as the two steaks were cooked to perfection (medium well and well done). Drinks were fresh and the bar staff very friendly. One female staff member in particular who was operating the table service was an absolute pleasure and took great pride in her job.

Staff were wonderful and service was great. Food was excellent in terms of quality and choice. A great experience.

Wine list good but could use a high end selection, Pomerol was excellent. Food was top class, mussels and the evening special of Scallops cooked to perfection, if a little heavy on the peas and purée. Main courses of Monkfish and Fillet Steak were cooked and served to perfection. Creme brûlée dessert comes highly recommended, finished a little under done but no complaints at all, crisped well. Irish Coffees and a drink after were well accommodated during these trying times.

Highly recommend and will visit again.

She was going to bring me some gluten free bread and without being prompted she knew my wife would need a seperate butter ramekin. My starter only needed slight modifying, it was chicken and chorizo terine, it was absolutely delicious. My main was a lovely steak with gluten free batter onion rings.

The restaurant seemed to have more of... read more a pub vibe but that didn’t bother us too much. I enjoyed my meal and the portion size was just enough but my partner ordered steak which was cooked rare rather than medium. He wasn’t overly bothered about this as it was still edible but it would’ve been nice to have it cooked how he asked. The menu is quite limited to options, don’t know if I would go back here if ever visiting again but what food they had available was very nice.

During the meal I received an email to say that my reservation had been cancelled, I assume as we were considered a “no show!” I mentioned this to the manager who brusquely informed me that my table had been given away because we were late. The place was not overly busy and I think that out of basic courtesy we should have been told when being seated that we wouldn’t be getting a seat in the restaurant. We would have taken our business elsewhere at this stage!
Overall a bitter disappointment for a birthday treat.

This visit was... read more no different even with covid restrictions and protocols we didn’t feel it impacted our visit . We booked a couple weeks in advance as with it being Christmas week we new it would be hard sourced . Emer who took the booking was a pleasure to deal with and explain the protocols and time limit we had , our friends also booked and they had the same thing to say . While we couldn’t sit together Emer was happy to place them close to us while maintaining a safe distance.
Food was incredible that night the steaks top class , cauliflower curry full of flavour and the brownie for desert really ended the meal on a high. Even our friends on the next table couldn’t fault a thing so much so they rebooked the next day again for an early sitting . We were served by the wonderful Aoife H that night who couldn’t be more helpful when explaining the menu wine and serving us through the evening. Even with the uncertainty and announcement of a third lockdown she was extremely professional and didn’t let the news impact her service . She also served our friends again the next day and was still as friendly as ever .
Our friends have found a new favourite in Galway and no doubt will be all back when we can.

  I've been going there for years. I did reviews in 2013 and 2014...the last one being very positive. I pop in every now and then for lunch and the food... read more is decent without being wow, to be fair but in the past year the level of service has dropped quite a lot. About 2 months ago I went in for lunch and was about to sit down at a table, to be told I couldnt sit there. I pointed to another table and was told it was graduation ceremony day at NUIG and tables were required. Several tables had reservation markers. The two I suggested I might sit at, did not have any markers. The place was half empty - it was 1 oclock. Obviously they expected to or anticipated filling all tables and have maximum capacity at each table and the idea of one person taking up an entire table was not maximising profit! I went in on my own, but had two friends coming to meet me. It was a bit embarrassing, having to walk out - people at other tables could clearly hear the conversation I was having with the guy (waiter or barman) behind the bar.

I definitely won't be back...and while I'm at it, the steak is overpriced and too small.

  Booked dinner here last night for three friends and hadn't been here in a couple of years and the service and standard of food is still top class in Galway.... read more We had a lovely table near the window, there was plenty of social distancing between tables and their new lay out is lovely. The service should be applauded and management and the team should be proud, they are very attentive and check on you through out your meal and are so friendly. The manager who has been there for a long time runs a tight ship and it is clear when there is not a single thing you could or should fault this restaurant on.
The food then also is fantastic- we all ordered three Fillet Steaks, mine was a little more pink to what I would like- No fault of the kitchen but of me because I am only learning to be brave enough to not order a steak that is not well done- they brought it back for me and cooked it a little more- out of this world- chips delicious and a fabulous selection of sauces to choose from.
Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable meal and we will be back again soon to treat ourselves to a nice dinner.

The food was absolutely divine - particularly the chicken and potato gratin! The kind blonde haired waitress couldn’t have been more accommodating- she even dropped out a happy birthday plate for my boyfriends birthday. Really reasonably priced also! As a waitress myself in a very popular restaurant I know what good food and service is and this place exceeds every expectation. We can’t wait to return!
